The Most Beautiful End of the Earth

For the 37th time, we had the pleasure to conduct the annual customer trip for an international tire manufacturer. Having stayed in Europe for the past few years, warm temperatures, a small time zone difference and great value for money led us to South Africa this time. We spent the first two days at Shepherd’s Tree Game Lodge in Pilanesberg National Park – a perfect place to take a break from everyday life and leave all your cares behind. Originally, only three game drives had been scheduled, but they turned out to be so exciting that we decided to crawl out of bed at five in the morning on our last day, in order to enjoy the wildlife – after all, you don’t get to see lions, elephants, giraffes, and rhinos every day! A plane then took us to Cape Town. Of course, we would not miss the Cape Winelands and tasting one or two of their delicious products at various vineyards. A traditional picnic was also included. We combined our visit to Cape Point with a helicopter flight along the coast from Cape Town to the Cape of Good Hope, and thanks to a special arrangement, we were permitted to land right inside the national park. Again, time passed far too quickly, and soon we had to bid farewell. Their was unanimity among the travelers that this was a great destination with plenty to see and do, great food and excellent wines – a place that would be hard to top.
